My day began with a delicious ham, mushroom and Gorgonzola quiche, a mimosa and the Beatles at Herban Café on Sixth Avenue. Three hours later — I’m still savoring that quiche. Truly magnificent.
My day also began with R.R. Anderson at said café. The Tacoma cartoonist, who graces the Weekly Volcano every week on page 2, drew a cartoon of Herban Café co-owner Gretchen Nogler and her pink cookies in honor of her generosity after she delivered said cookies to the folks who grabbed back Frost Park. In honor of said cartoonist, said Herban Café owner added said cartoon to the café’s menus. Nice.
